With joy profound
Come gather round.
Praise God for all we're seeing!
His glory glows
In swaddling clothes
Where lowly beasts are feeding.
Our fallen race
In dark disgrace,
Though deep in disbelieving,
This very night
His gift of life
We're humbly here receiving.
A human
child
But undefiled,
The Son of God, our Father;
To all our race
Surprising grace:
A Savior and a Brother.
The night is gone.
Here shines the dawn,
His glorious new creation!
Here lies our peace,
Our heart's release,
Our full and free salvation!
In praise
profound
We gather round
And bow in joy believing.
The Father's life,
His truth, His light,
We're humbly here receiving-
His smiling face, His glad embrace,
His presence and His pleasure,
His pure delight,
The Living Christ,
His love's eternal treasure!
