God spoke into darkness, and worlds came to be.
His will in a word became all we can see.
But when our Creator was servant and son,
He healed all the needy
One by one.

He healed with a word, and He healed with a touch.
They knew that He loved them but never how much
Till hanging, He suffered in silence and blood
To pardon us sinners
One by one.

So freely receiving, now freely we give.
He calls and compels us to love and to live
That neighbors and nations and peoples and tongues
May know Him and love Him
One by one.
